Our jobs

Our day-to-day mission is to serve local authorities and private individuals according to the "THREE CORE SERVICES" principle


  • The CLEANING of public and private roads and driveways, public spaces and lifts, commercial and technical spaces, bodies of water, car parks as well as road tunnels and industrial areas.
  • The COLLECTION of household and similar waste, non-hazardous industrial waste and commercial waste, as well as waste from selective sorting (glass, paper and cardboard packaging, newspapers, oil, WEEE - Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment, ink/toner cartridges, lamps, fluorescent tubes, neon lights and, since February 2008, Recyclable Household Packaging) and toxic waste in dispersed quantities, such as batteries, aerosols, batteries, paints, solvents and bulky items.
  • The PROCESSING of waste by incineration and energy recovery at the Municipal and Industrial Waste-to-Energy Plant.

Share ownership

The SMA is a Monegasque limited company with capital of 744,000 Euros divided into 1,240 shares.

Since 1988, the main shareholder has been SMEG (Société Monégasque de l'Electricité et du Gaz), which holds 61,05% of the capital and is itself 64% owned by ENGIE Energie Services.

The Monegasque State holds 23,31% of the capital of the SMA and grants the concession for SMA’s activities and monitors their implementation through the Department of Urban Development.

The institutional shareholders include:

  • SMEG (Société Monégasque de l'Electricité et du Gaz) 61,05%.
  • The Monegasque State 23,31%
  • Miscellaneous 15,64%
